We recommend allocating at least two hours for your visit, so you have time to explore both the historic Cabinet War Rooms and the Churchill Museum. Look out for our friendly and knowledgeable volunteers in their red uniforms to find out what’s happening onsite on the day of your visit and to help you make the most of your experience. Important Note
Unfortunately, there are no cloakroom or locker facilities, therefore we are unable to allow access to visitors with suitcases, pull along baggage, or large holdalls.
Please keep in mind, Churchill War Rooms can be busy at the weekend and during school holidays and may be unsuitable for those who do not like crowds.
There is an air ventilation system across the majority of the historic rooms and Churchill Museum that keeps the building at a comfortable temperature. If visitors are concerned about the temperature in the summer months, then we’d recommend visiting after 15:00 when there are fewer visitors on site which naturally makes the environment cooler.
We have one baby changing facility underground. There are also highchairs available in the café (subject to availability).
The Chief’s of Staff Room video contains loud sounds of bombing and air raid sirens.
